Life is fragile, time is short, and eternity is certain. God is offering peace through Jesus Christ in this present Dispensation of Grace, but the opportunity will not last forever. The Bible declares, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). Your life is a vapor that “appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” (James 4:14). Yet through Christ, “being justified by faith, we have peace with God” (Romans 5:1). Salvation is available now, not later. Scripture urges, “Seek ye the LORD while He may be found” (Isaiah 55:6) and warns, “To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts” (Hebrews 3:15). Delay is dangerous, because opportunity delayed can become opportunity denied.
Without Christ, every person is lost. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Apart from Him we are “having no hope, and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12), and the gospel is “hid to them that are lost” (2 Corinthians 4:3). But the good news is that Jesus Christ paid the full price for your salvation. He died, was buried, and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1–4). “God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He was “made… to be sin for us” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Salvation is not earned—it is purchased.
Still, salvation must be personally received. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31). You must “believe in thine heart” (Romans 10:9–10), for “he that believeth not is condemned already” (John 3:18). No one can believe for you. And life is far too short to postpone this decision. Your life is a vapor (James 4:14). God may say, “This night thy soul shall be required of thee” (Luke 12:20). “Man also knoweth not his time” (Ecclesiastes 9:12). After death, there is no second chance. “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). A great gulf is fixed (Luke 16:26), and every person will stand before Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10). When life ends, decisions are final.
Yet Christ offers perfect peace to all who come to Him. “We have peace with God” (Romans 5:1). He made “peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:20), and “He is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14). Those who trust Him are eternally secure, “sealed with that holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13), and nothing can separate them from His love (Romans 8:38–39). He is able to keep all who trust in Him (2 Timothy 1:12). And if you are saved, you are called to share this message. We are “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:20). “How shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14). Therefore, “Preach the word” (2 Timothy 4:2). Someone’s eternity may depend on your witness.
Life is short, uncertain, and fragile—but salvation is available, complete, and eternal. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Make your peace with Christ today. If you are unsaved, admit your sin (Romans 3:23), believe the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1–4), and trust Christ now (Acts 16:31). If you are saved, rest in His peace (Romans 5:1), redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16), reach the lost (2 Corinthians 5:20), and remain faithful (1 Corinthians 15:58).
